AdderView CATx IP5000
Q: Global network users are unable to contact the AdderView CATxIP 5000
A: 1) Check that the correct address is being used by the remote users. 2) Check the network settings. Check that the users network address has not been excluded in the IP access control section. 3) If the AdderView CATxIP 5000 is situated behind a firewall, check that the relevant ports are being allowed through the firewall and are being correctly routed. 4) Check the front panel indicators, the LNK indicator should be on. If the network link is a 100Mbps connection, the 100 indicator should also be on.
Q: The remote cursor is not correctly responding to my mouse movements
A: Recalibrate the mouse. When doing so, ensure that the host system does not have mouse cursor trails enabled and that the top left corner of the screen is clear of application windows.Absolute Mouse mode is supported by USB Cams it is always preferable to use this.
Q: When logging on using VNC viewer, I cannot enter a username
A: Either, the VNC viewer is an old version (download a new one) or only the admin user has been configured on the AdderView CATxIP 5000.
AdderView Matrix
Q: Poor video quality with smearing, fuzziness or ripple.
A: Use coaxial video cables to connect your devices to the AdderView Matrix.
Q: When power switching, the selected computer does not power on or off.
A: Check the power switch port(s) to which the computer is connected. Check the indicator status for that/those ports on the power switch front panel - do they illuminate/extinguish when the switching command is sent? If a multi-feed server is attached to more than one power port, check that all of the power inputs are connected to ports and that all those ports are being switched.
Q:I am using an Adder View Matrix and need USB control. I have used your KMU2P (USB to PS/2) convertor device and connected a USB mouse and keyboard. I have used active USB extenders the keyboard works but the optical mouse will not.
A:This would be resolved by using a PS/2 CAM (CATX-PS2) and an X200 receiver (X200-USB/P). The switch has insufficient power to drive the KMU2P and the active USB extender, but the X200 solution will work.
